Elk Creek Dragway Points Championship
In 2011 the points system will undergo some changes. Every race in 2011 except the Wild Card Event will be a point race up until September 10th and your best 15 events will count toward the championship. The more times a racer competes in ECD events the more opportunities they have to better their score (remember it’s the 15 BEST scores that count, not just the first 15). This is the incentive to run as many races as possible in 2011. This gives us a set number of point races instead of leaving it to chance. (ECD will try to get 15 events in if we have to do it on Fridays or two races in one day.) We hope the flexibility of this schedule and points system will appeal to a greater number of racers.

Other Class Changes:
Jr. Dragsters will be run as one class regardless of the age of driver or E.T. of car (7.90 or slower). Cars will be paired at random (the way they enter the lanes) or by matching cards.
DOT - Competitors that race in DOT can only run DOT in that day’s event, in that car. If you want to run DOT and another class you must do it in two separate vehicles.
Outlaw 32 – You can no longer send a racer in your place to receive points in your absence. You must attend and take the tree first round to be awarded points.
